Any time our team gets to take on both coordination and floral design for a wedding, we have the best time seeing the whole vision come together. And as we’ve shared before, we don’t think you can go wrong with a black and white color scheme, especially at a venue like Knotting Hill Place that ties right in with that classic and elegant feel. Rachel and Derek’s October wedding was a display of fresh bright white blooms and greenery, with a hint of moodiness in some black details.
The ceremony was kept simple and bright with vines of greenery on the floor down the aisle and two large organic-style arrangements that sat on black urns at the altar. The pop of black definitely made a statement against all the lightness in the room — including sheer curtains and clear acrylic chairs for the guest seating.
The reception had lots of flowers and greenery throughout, and featured more black touches that matched the transition from the ceremony to reception. The guest tables had a mix of tall, lush arrangements on black stands, and simple greenery-and-candle centerpieces. Tall arrangements are always a great fit for this space since they add so much height and can easily be statement pieces!
We always take advantage of the grand staircase in this room, and went extra-lush with for this couple! Lots of greenery embellished the banisters and we added some ground arrangements with more white blooms. The perfect photo op as the couple and their wedding party enter!
Rachel’s bouquet had the same organic style while still embodying the elegant feel of the whole event and her look, which centered around a stunning simple strapless white gown. Her bridesmaids helped round out the black and white palette with black gowns and similar white bouquets with fresh touches of greenery.
